More words about me

"Tu Nguyen was born in Saigon, Vietnam and immigrated to the US in 2000 with his parents.
His first job in the US was working full-time as a fixture assembler while he went to a local
adult school for English as a Second Language classes at night.  In 2001, he went to
Evergreen Valley College where he started the Vietnamese Student Association. The
organization grew to 200 members in less than a year and provided tutoring and Vietnamese
cultural shows. Tu also gave back to his community by volunteering to teach computer and
English classes to new immigrants with the Santa Clara Catholic Charity.  He then moved to
San Diego where he worked as a mechanic while going to Palomar College to finish his lower
division classes.  In 2005, he transferred to SDSU to pursue a degree in Mechanical
Engineering. He worked in the Mechanical Engineering machine shop assisting faculty by
designing and building research equipment and producing parts for student projects.  He
also tutored his classmates in math, physics, and engineering in his spare time.  Tu plans to
work in the mechanical engineering field after graduation and would like to continue making
the world a better place for us all to live in."
